Easy Steps to Handle Your Car Upholstery Cleaning
The car needs care just as much as the house, so don’t let your home hog all the domestic cleaning for itself. Spare some for the car as well! Your car has upholstery and rugs and it also needs some cleaning activity going on so that the driver, say, does not suffocate while driving or catch some respiratory illness because of all the dust that gathers inside. And if you are a family person, then the car will need upholstery cleaning just based on the fact that you have an infant or a hyperactive child.
So, taking it step by step, what is the best way to handle car upholstery cleaning?
Step 1 – Take out all the floor mats from the car floor. You can technically do that later as well. You can also take out the seats, but that is completely optional, and sometimes unadvised unless you have actually done it before. You can easily clean the seats while they are in the car as well.
Step 2 – Simple stain removal time. Check your upholstery for any stains. If there are any you have to take care of, then take a stain remover and test it on your seat to see if it does any damage. If it doesn’t, then it’s all go – spray and wipe till the stain is gone. If the upholstery doesn’t agree with the stain remover, use an all-purpose cleaner made up of water and dishwashing detergent.
Step 3 – After the seats are dried up, use a microfiber cloth to swipe all potential dust. You can do the same with the dashboard and wheel as well.
Step 4 – Use a rug cleaner to take care of the floor mats. If you don’t know any specific one, then you can simply do a shampoo bath. It is that easy to clean a rug, yes.
Step 5 – Find a medium-stiff brush and clean any hair from the car floor (strongly advised if you have a pet). Repeat several times, just to be sure.
Step 6 – Then you can take some of that shampoo or rug cleaner and dip the cleaned brush. Repeat the cleansing to take care of other type of dirt as well.
Step 7 – Return the rugs on the car floor and voila. Your car is as good as new. You can now also spend some time on the car doors and be as thorough as you were with the car upholstery cleaning – you can also use the same methods!
Alternative Step A - Another way to clean the car straight away with little to no prep is by using a steam cleaner. Steamers are perfect for car interiors (floor mat, upholstery, doors) as they contain everything you need to keep the car squeaky clean. The steam will blast away any dirt and you simply have to be thorough with handling the machine. Don’t use it on the dashboard, though – you don’t want any moisture finding its way to the circuit board.
Alternative Step B – Use a toothbrush for smaller stains on the rugs or doors, or even the seats, if they are not leather-bound. An old toothbrush will be an excellent tool with the right amount of scrubbing dedication.
As you can see, cleaning the car interior is almost too simple. All it takes is the right tools and some diligence. You can do it right now, simply stop browsing the internet for cleaning advices and go to your garage to take care of your car. Dedication is the best friend you’ll find when endeavouring in such activities.
