Ten Ways to Make House Cleaning Fun

Whether it’s a move out clean, a spring clean or just a general deep clean there are some steps that you can take to make it more fun than you might be imagining it to be. If you always dread a big clean and find yourself doing anything but the task in hand then you might need to have a look through this guide to make a big clean into a fun occasion. After all you will be doing something productive instead of going out and spending money.
-    Get people to motivate you. It’s time to get your friends round and turn a clean into a bit of a party. If you have flat mates then it’s the perfect excuse for you to all get together and have fun. Put one person on carpet cleaning duty, one person on oven cleaning duty, one person on bathroom and so one. You can mark each other on your results afterwards.
-    Crack open the wine. So now you have your company you may as well have some drinks. You would probably all want to hang around together and enjoy a drink anyway so why not get some tasks done while doing so. You can chat from room to room to let each other know how you are getting on. Moaning always helps get you through the tough jobs so feel free to moan at each other!
-    Switch it up. The beauty of life is that we are all different, a job you might hate may be a job that your friend doesn’t actually mind. Try switching it up or doing half and half, especially if one of you is tackling a big job such as upholstery cleaning.
-    Break for food. But don’t lose motivation. Arrange something you all enjoy and promise you can have it after you have finished the tasks you are doing. Then you can get back to work and promise you get desert when you have finished everything so that you have more motivation to work and you will deserve it.
-    Don’t break the bank. Look up homemade cleaning recipes and all chip in, you can have fun putting together all the different methods and find out which ones work best. If you are doing an end of tenancy clean then think of the money you have saved on not hiring a professional cleaner. It’s a great reason to open another bottle of wine!
-    Put on some great music. Background needs to be something that makes you feel happy and productive, so a well know musical, your favorite sound track or some good sing along tunes will get you all in the mood. You will probably work faster to music as well, so things will get done in no time at all.
-    See it as a work out. You burn a lot of calories when you get a good cleaning done, more than you would if you were just sitting there for a catch up, so remind you friends that it’s all worth wile.
-    Enjoy your results. Don’t forget to take a step back and admire what you have done. Pop in on your friends and see how they are getting on as well, you may be surprised at the results.
-    Make a competition out of it. Motivate your friends by telling them there is a prize for the best room or job. Buy something nice to treat the winner with beforehand, I bet it will get them working all much harder.
