Top Easter Cleaning Tips for the Perfect Home
Just because Easter is a bank holiday and you get to take a break from work it does not mean that you get a break from your chores or any house cleaning needs. And there will be a lot of home cleaning done during Easter, you can be sure of that. It is one of those holidays that allow kids to be quite unruly and messy at the same time, what with all the chocolate and other treats they will be getting, and all the activities at hand. And let’s not forget, you will also have to get the house ready for the Easter feast, and that takes time and effort as well. How does that sound for a bank holiday? In any case, here is how you deal with the whole situation and all the stains that you may discover while trying to have fun on your break.
The Many Stains of Easter
• Chocolate – Naturally, the most often encountered stain you will deal with is the chocolate stain. Luckily, it’s mostly easy to deal with. Simply get rid of all the chocolate leftovers, then dampen the area with water, and after that take a sponge or a towel and scrub rigorously with either detergent or a mixture of water and baking soda.
• Candy stains – You should have noticed the pattern by now – yes, kids will bring the most problems what will all the sweets they have been handed. But no worries, all the rest of the non-chocolate candy stains can easily be taken care of with a towel, hot water and some more detergent.
• Dirt and grass stains – One backlash from searching eggs will be the constant flow of grass and dirt that the children will be bringing to the house and back out. Any leftover stains after going wild with the vacuum cleaner can be treated in one of two ways: a) you can acquire a steam cleaner and it will thoroughly cleanse any such stain, or b) use hot water and a laundry or dishwashing detergent to scrub away the stain.
• Grease stains – Well, once the Easter feast starts, this will also be a problem, but an easily solvable one. Dishwashing detergent is wonderful to deal with grease, and so is soda paste made of one part water, two parts baking soda.
The Feast Preparation and Fallout
And then comes time for the Sunday roast. Of course, first you should get your kitchen in shape and do spare some effort for oven cleaning – you want the lamb to be perfectly done and to come out smelling fresh and not of yesterday’s meals. After the kitchen cleaning do all your cooking, and then focus your attention on the setup of the dining room. Set an area that will fit all the guests, then engage in more house cleaning – some upholstery cleaning and vacuuming will be most welcomed to show the guests you made an effort beside the cooking. Then set up the table, wait for the time to come, serve the roast dinner and enjoy your time with the family.
After everything is said and done, the cleaning is pretty standard for every household, unless you have some real troublemakers at home. Be wary of candy wrappers and all the rubbish you will have to clean and get rid of following the dinner and the party. There is no shame in calling cleaning services as well!
And then you will be done with Easter – the Easter preparation, the dinner, the candy and all the chocolates. Of course, there will still be some eggs and chocolate rabbits you will have to deal with after everybody gifts your kid with them, but most of the work is done. All that is left, hopefully, is to enjoy your Easter Monday and really have a break.
