Clean Hard-to-Reach Places the Easy Way

How Do You Clean Hard to Reach Places?

clean hard-to-reach places

House cleaning is not always the easiest thing in the world. While everyone keeps telling you that doing the domestic chores frequently, like every day for a few minutes, and then backing that up with a thorough domestic cleaning every other weekend, you will find that some spots are always missed. There are places in your house that passively avoid your home cleaning drill and you become aware of them once the dirt there has reached bad levels and is later hardly cleaned because ‘why bother’. Well, you should bother because neglected places accumulate the most germs and bacteria and spread diseases every time you walk by them. Such hard-to-reach places should be taken care of immediately during the course of the home cleaning. And if you want the easy solutions to cleaning such places, read further:

#1 – Move Your Appliances

One of the most popular places for gathered dust and subsequent dirt is under the appliances. Under the oven, the counters, the sofa, the table, and so on: all of these are neglected places which you clean only to the extent that your vacuum cleaner allows it. The stronger the suction power, the better the cleaning done, but said cleaning is never thorough or complete. Thus, you should never be lazy when trying to get your home clean and you need to move the object under which you want to clean. Even big objects, such as the fridge or the washing machine, can be moved aside for five minutes till you clean the area there and put them back into place.

#2 – Use Mops for the Toilet

Now, the toilet bowl cannot be moved, yes. And behind the toilet bowl you have one of the most not-cleaned areas in the house because of the hard access. So how do you clean that spot easily? Well, use a mop. Sweeping won’t get the job done, but a nice wet mop will send enough water flowing to soften up all the dirt and then the brush or mop will take it all away. All it takes is a mop long enough and a good position to shove it from. No need to bend or kneel for that – the mop does all the work.

#3 – Take the Books off the Shelf

Shelf dust is often ignored, especially in the back, since it’s hidden behind all the books you have there. Guess what the solution is here? That’s right, if you take the books down, you will have a clear view and easy reach to the dust and all that can be handled with a few simple swings of the duster. And then dust the books as well before returning them to their place.

#4 – Use Attachments for Ceiling Fans

If you have ceiling fans, don’t let them spin with dust on top unless you want a grey shower of diseases. Vacuum cleaners have a special attachment that helps you both dust and suck all the dust off of higher places. Use that attachment and clean the fan without even having to step on any chairs or getting a good view. You’ll know the job is done when you turn the fan on and you can breathe normally without going into sneezing fits.

#5 – Don’t Be Lazy with Room Corners

These ones are on you. If you have dirty corners in your rooms, that is basically because of your own laziness. There are numerous ways of getting the corners of the house clean without breaking a sweat (other than what you have already sweated, of course), so if after the domestic cleaning you are left with dirty corners, you can blame that only on laziness. The solution: use a vacuum cleaner attachment for corners, use a rag, use a hand brush – literally anything works so long as you actually do something about it.

#6 – Vacuum the Air Vents

If you have vents that need cleaning, then simply take out the vacuum and suck all the dust and dirt away so that they can do their job with air ventilation better. It’s no rocket science, simply turn the switch, suck the dirt, and enjoy fresh and clean air.

Practice all these tips and tricks next time you endeavour cleaning your home and see how much better everything will look once you make the effort of doing a thorough job and making sure that you have covered the harder-to-reach places. The key is not ignoring them.
