How Do I Keep My House Sparkling Clean?
Come on, admit it, home cleaning is tedious and you would never do it if your health was not at stake. But then there are many ways to avoid doing all the work that domestic cleaning requires. People have been using their creativity to avoid working for so many years now – why do you think the Roomba exists, after all? There are, of course easier ways to take care of your home without spending so much money for machines to do the work for you and their maintenance. Cleaning hacks are one of the new fads and there are people already incorporating them into their daily routine. Here are some of those hacks and how you can use them to make keeping the home clean easier.
#1 – Don’t Use Bowls and Cups
What is the easiest way to clean your dishes? Well, don’t use any dishes at all! Make use of paper plates and plastic cups, or eat things straight from their boxes and packages. Use plastic bags and plastic utensils, and then throw everything away. It means slightly more frequent trips to the rubbish bin, but the alternative is to hang in front of the sink, scrubbing dishes.
#2 – Plastic Food Wrap
Plastic wrap will make your life so much easier. For example, it’s time for dinner. Place a sheet of plastic wrap on the table, then eat. Okay, time to clean up. Step one; roll up the plastic wrap with all the plastic dishes and crumbs and leftovers. Step two; throw it away. Step three; enjoy something that is not cleaning. See how simple it is? It can also be used in other ways, such as when cooking, or in the fridge to place things on top so as not to make a mess. It is one of the lazy person’s ultimate tools for a reason.
#3 – Use Shower Gel Instead of Soap
Remember the annoying soap scum which you have to scrape at with passive-aggression from your bathroom floor and kitchen sink every time you wash or shower? Well, you don’t really have to deal with it, you can simply use shower gel. It does not leave any such stains and cleans itself, and it is pretty much as effective as a standard soap. Quick cleaning, no consequences.
#4 – Use Swiffer Socks When Inside
This might seem strange, but then again, those socks attract dust like honey attracts bears. Every time you make a walk across your flat, your socks basically collect all the dust you step on. That means less vacuuming and less dealing with pesky dust. It does mean more laundry though, and you probably should not use a pair for more than a day or two since it becomes sort of unsanitary. Still, it’s a trick to fool people you are being tidy at home!
#5 – Dusting With a Lint Roller
Dusting can be boring, yes. And it can also bring about lots of dust. But instead of using a feather duster or a microfiber cloth, there is an alternative - using your lint roller! Yes, it can be used for more than just your clothes. Take it and roll it over a lamp or a dusty surface and see all the dust disappearing and getting stuck to the roller. That is one way to roll for sure.
Employ these hacks and you will have a much easier time dealing with your household chores. Doing domestic cleaning does not have to be difficult, especially if you are creative enough to circumvent the conventional methods. And, of course, there are also the cleaning companies that make house cleaning even easier by providing you with human helpers who do all the work for you anytime you want. Either use that, or any of the methods above and have an easier time dealing with your chores at home.
